Audition for The Lumina Acting Academy
Are you ready to take your acting to the next level? The Lumina Acting Academy in Chicago offers a rigorous and rewarding training program for aspiring actors of all levels. Our audition process is designed to identify talented individuals with a passion for the craft and a dedication to learning.
Audition Requirements
To be considered for admission to The Lumina Acting Academy, all applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Complete the online application form (see below).
- Submit a headshot and resume.
- Prepare two contrasting monologues, each no longer than two minutes in length. One monologue should be comedic, and the other dramatic.
- Be prepared to participate in a brief interview with our faculty.
- (Optional) You may submit a short performance reel (no more than 3 minutes) showcasing your previous acting experience.

Auditions for the Fall 2025 semester will be held on the following dates:

Please note that audition slots are limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage you to submit your application as early as possible to secure your preferred audition time.
What to Expect During Your Audition
Your audition at The Lumina Acting Academy will be a supportive and encouraging experience. Our faculty is dedicated to helping you showcase your talent and potential. During the audition, you will:
- Perform your two prepared monologues.
- Participate in a brief interview, where we will ask you about your acting background, your goals, and why you are interested in studying at The Lumina Acting Academy.
- You may be asked to participate in a short improvisation exercise to assess your spontaneity and creativity.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about acting, committed to learning, and eager to collaborate with their peers. We value creativity, authenticity, and a strong work ethic.
